Hope

Whenever I meet someone new and they find out that I am an auctioneer who specializes in charity events, a funny look crosses their face, I guess because there just aren’t many full time auctioneers out there, even fewer of us women.

But, as I’ve said in past posts, I love what I do. My training, talents and enthusiasm make me uniquely qualified to raise funds and awareness for worthwhile causes. And I take it seriously. My role is not just to surpass some preset monetary goal for my clients, but to engender a feeling of hope. One that not only pervades the event, but lingers long after the event has ended.

You can’t look up the word hope and not find this quote by Alexander Pope:
“Hope springs eternal in the human breast;
Man never Is, but always To be blest:
The soul, uneasy and confin’d from home,
Rests and expatiates in a life to come.”

Springtime in Minnesota is a time of both springs and of hope. We see flocks of robins returning home, feel the warm sun again, and watch the melting snow. Every year, after each paralyzing winter frost, the spring returns, hope returns.

I invite you to renew your hope; to see the world changing for the better and to use the unique talents and gifts you possess to be a part of that positive change.

As a leading benefit auctioneer, I am dedicated to helping deserving organizations across the country meet and exceed their fundraising goals. Take your non-profit auction to the next level. Contact benefit auctioneer Karen Sorbo to learn more.
