I will admit it, there have been items at my auctions that have caused one to wonder. When I had to auction off bull sperm, the first thought I had was, “what am I going to say about this?”
Life presents moments such as these: the awkward question at the job interview, sitting next to someone you’ve been trying to avoid, or situations that are so awful or so bizarre we really don’t know what to say.
But we can manage, we can get through, we can even thrive in this.
The first thing we need to do is accept. Accept the question, accept the person, accept the situation. The second step is to believe: believe that we can and will manage this. The final step is to make the best of it. Life is full of opportunities to make the best of a bad situation. As the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemon drop martinis!
